So as you can see the growing rate of mothers that want to work from home vs working outside of the home is growing and with all the endless opportunities online the number will grow everyday.

First of all the obvious is a work at home mom has children she has to take care of. They can be anywhere from a baby to even teenagers. What’s important to her is that she has the flexibility to be there for them when they need her.

A work at home mom needs a career, a job, or a home business that she can make money with. Maybe she does not to make as much money as her previous job, but she still want to make money working at home. For this reason it is very common for a mom to start a home business and run it out of her home.

In the old days this would mean excellent business opportunities for women such as Mary Kay, Avon, Discovery Toys, and any business that she could do around her schedule. Many of these were MLM opportunities allowing her to both sell products and recruit distributors to sell products as well.

Then she can follow-up by phone with those who are sincerely looking for ways to stay at home and work with their own home business.

One other thing that is making it easy for a mom to work at home is conference calls. You can easily communicate with your group as often as you want by conducting a conference call. Although this is not a new concept it is now being utilized by businesses in many different industries as a way to communicate and do mass training. The cost is surprisingly reasonable as well.

“My family, they don’t support me.”

Some even say, me, I don’t have enough confidence. This, I believe, is the real reason many women are not achieving the success they can in their work at home job.

A work at home mom can have all the skills and equipment needed to make her job a profitable venture, but without confidence it is highly unlikely that she will earn what she is worth.

Confidence is something you need in every aspect of life, including being a work at home mom. You need to be able to rely and believe in your own power to make things work.

I was asked once what the difference was between a successful work at home mom and an unsuccessful one was. My answer was simple- self esteem. She doesn’t let anything stand in her way of creating her own happiness and that includes herself.

She doesn’t spend time feeling sorry for herself when things don’t turn out. And shes not afraid to go after the things that will make her happier, even if it involves some risk. She also applies common sense and practicality to the things she does. This means doing the required research before she begins anything.

A work at home mom who believes in herself is not afraid to ask for help. Whether it be from colleagues or her family. So many women struggle with their responsibilities as a work at home mom simply because they don’t want to admit that they need a little help.

A confident work at home mom is up to date. She knows whats going on in her industry and she makes use of latest techniques to help her run a more effective and efficient work at home job.

She makes every effort to put herself out there, even if that means getting out of her comfort zone. And shes not afraid of change.

Being a work at home mom is not like working a day job in an office downtown. You are faced with different challenges and it can be a greater struggle to juggle both your personal and professional life. But when you are a confident work at home mom you’re not afraid of these challenges.

Confidence is not just a sureness that you can get the job done; it also applies to keeping positive in the event something goes wrong.

Something will, at some point, go wrong. It is a true test of character to see how you will manage. If you are confident you know its not the end of the world. It simply means you need to reevaluate they way things are and try to come up with a new solution. But when you lack confidence the slightest thing can cause you to want to jump ship.

Becoming a confident work at home mom takes time, but it is worth doing the work on yourself. You will experience more success in your work at home job when you are a confident work at home mom.

Being a work-at-home-mom (WAHM) is something I have been fortunate enough to be off and on for the past 17 years, and consistently for the past 8 years.

I am so grateful I have been able to be home and be a part of my kids’ lives AND do work that I love and make a great living.

As I look back at all my years of being a work at home mom, here are the reasons I love it most.

(1) I get to be home with my kids

When I worked full time in a traditional job, there never seemed to be enough hours in the day. I felt like the time I spent with my kids was always rushed. We were rushing to get ready for school, or rushing to get ready for dinner, or bed. As a work at home mom I get to enjoy the time I spend with my kids.

(2) I don’t have to worry about missing work when one of my kids is sick

I used to stress about taking my own sick days to care for my kids when they got sick. Or, I’d feel guilty leaving them with grandma. As a work at home mom, if one of my kids is sick, I have the flexibility to take off work. And, if I do need to get work done, my kids know I’m right in the next room.

(3) I don’t have to miss after school activities

As a work at home mom, I can arrange my work schedule around my kids’ activities so I don’t have to miss out. Every time I’m at a baseball or softball game and I notice the parents who can’t be there, or those who arrive late, I feel so thankful I can always be there.

(4) I am able to take my kids to their dentist and doctor appointments

It may sound silly, but as a mom, I want to be the one to take my kids to their appointments. As a work at home mom, my flexible work schedule makes this possible.

(5) I was able to take my kids to and from school when they were younger

When my kids were in elementary and middle school, I loved that I could take them to school and pick them up in the afternoon.

(6) I’m there when my kids get home from school (now that they’re in high school)

Now that my kids drive themselves to and from school, I love that I’m there when they get home from school. So they’re not coming home to an empty house. And, even if they are too busy to talk to me, I’m there.

(7) I’m there for those “drop in” conversations

Teenagers have a habit of dropping in when something is on their mind. I’m so glad I’m there for those “drop-in” sessions. I know if I wasn’t, I wouldn’t know nearly as much about what’s going on in their lives.

(8) I have time to exercise and take care of myself

When I worked full time in a job, it was tough trying to find time to take care of myself. Exercise took time away from the precious little time I had with my kids. Now I don’t have to give up time with them, to take care of me.

(9) I am able to do work I enjoy

Having my own business has allowed me to do work I love and have more control over my career. And, when I’m happier with my work, I’m a happier mom, too.

(10) I am able to make a great living AND be with my family

While I still struggle with balance from time to time, being a work at home mom really does allow me to have it all.

I feel blessed to be a work at home mom. And I know my family is stronger for it, too.
