Work at home holiday sales will soon by brimming for many home business owners with Christmas and the new year. What better time to end a busy prosperous year and start thinking about an even more prosperous one? That’s right! This is the ideal time to start thinking and planning ahead for all the exciting possibilities for holiday sales, the upcoming year, and the overall growth of your business.

What do you have planned to grow your business?

What can you do to boost your income for the holidays?

What are your plans for your customers?

What are your business goals for the coming year?

Yes, a lot of questions, and ones that are so easy to procrastinate until another day. Well, this is another day. These are things you currently need to carefully consider. Your success essentially depends on your future plans. So, what will you be doing for your business?

Below are some simple tips to think about

* Send out holiday greeting cards graced with your logo. I think it adds more of a personal touch if you add a handwritten message inside your card along with your signature instead of a typed one. Also, always include a business card inside the holiday greeting card.

* Send out a special holiday newsletter to your customer base. Include your best tips along with specific holiday sales. This is the time of year to show your customers you really care by offering generous discounts on special products and/or services.

* Have a holiday contest and offer real prizes to draw in targeted traffic. The contest could entail many things depending on what your business is about. I’ve seen many forum contests that have been successful and they range from various types . Another idea that works well is creative writing contests, these could involve articles, blog posts, poetry, and the like. Perhaps a fun trivia contest would be a hit with your audience.

* If you have products available online, offer free shipping for a limited time throughout the holiday season. This sale booster always gets the interest of online shoppers. Always include your business card along with the shipped product.

* If you own a website and offer advertising space, have a discount sale on a select few of your ad options. Everyone is looking for reasonable advertising around the holidays. Extend the sale into the new year as well. I have found people are looking for new target places to advertise in January.

* Include a freebie with your holiday sales. This could be a gift card, an ebook, or anything you can offer for free that benefits your business.

* If you’re involved with article marketing and are consistently writing for your business, incorporate your articles into an ebook. You can either sell the ebook or offer it as a freebie to your customers.

* Provide extra special customer service! This in itself is the most important aspect of your online presence. This should be practiced all year round. Good customer service is crucial to your business. If you don’t show your customers good service, then you may as well not have a business in the first place.

Here are some suggested business goal tips to consider for the new year

* Make your goals realistic. However, you should set goals that give you the initiative to surpass what you actually think you can easily achieve.

* Put your goals in writing and post them where you can easily see them daily.

* Join at least one new social network in the new year

* Make it a point to stay more in contact with your customers

* Try and incorporate more creativity into your marketing plans

The internet has made it possible for people all of the world to earn money and work at home. Regardless of your background, your education, your current income level, or anything else, if you are willing to work you can do it at home.

To be successful and work at home you need to do a few things. In this articles we will refer to working at home as having your own home business. Whether it is an actual business with a business name or just you working for yourself you really are in business for yourself and will have to learn to think that way.

Here are 4 successful work at home tips.

1. You are going to need a stick to it attitude. Most people quit before really giving themselves a chance to learn how to be successful online. If your attitude is one of determination and you are a self motivated person then you can earn money working at home. There is no getting around the fact that you will have failures and may even ponder quitting.

As long as you maintain an attitude of I will not quit eventually thoughts of quitting will leave you and will be replaced by thoughts of all of the successes you are enjoying.

2. You are going to have to become educated on how to work at home and earn money. There are skills that you will have to acquire. This will be ongoing, but as long as you posses reasonable intelligence you can do it.

Working at home will require you to choose the best products and businesses to represent and this is part of the self education process. Learning what works for you and what is not working will allow you to work at home and move your business forward.

3. You will need to make good decisions. Working at home means you have no one telling you what to do. You are responsible for what happens in your home business and you will decide how you spend your time, when to advertise and when to pull back, and everything from marketing to bookkeeping.

This does not mean that you can not outsource some of your work, As you can afford to do that it is always a good idea to maximize your time and spend your efforts doing what you enjoy and farm out the rest.

4. One other thing that all successful people who work at home do is they copy other successful people. You will find there is a never ending supply of experts willing to take your money if you buy their guaranteed success systems. Forget about those and keep your eyes open for people who share what they are doing without an agenda. You can become successful by copying what they do and the way they do it.

There are many other things that go into having a successful work at home business or career. One big key is to work in an industry or a niche of products that you enjoy. If you have to do it everyday you might as well enjoy it and working at home doing something you enjoy is the best way of all to be successful.

Unemployment and job loss fears are real. Job prospects are also real. In particular, opportunities to work from home online are increasing. However, beware that there are many out there ready to take your money, unscrupulously, and not even think twice about it. I can speak from experience.

With unemployment hovering around 14 million it is wise to look at alternatives. At home jobs are a wonderful way to replace the company that is ready to cut employees loose. For many it is smart to be self-sufficient. It is not good to be totally dependent on other people. Only with the advent of the industrial age did we allow ourselves the luxury of relying on others. Prior to that we were on farms or working family owned businesses to survive. If the economy continues on the present path it is advisable to find another course. In my view, there is no hope for improvement in the business climate. Businesses are looking out for number one and the rest of us be damned. If this were isolated to America then I would have no concerns but greed is running rampant worldwide and I don’t have much confidence that we will see improvement. I am not a pessimist by nature. In fact, I am an optimist. Nevertheless, we should not let optimism get in the way of realism. “Hope for the best and plan for the worst” is advice that we should all follow.

Online advertising is becoming more and more prevalent. For that reason marketing on the internet is becoming widespread. Online advertisers are willing to pay for your efforts with online jobs and some are legit. Corporations have seen the value of working with the masses to increase their bottom line. These companies have a lot of cash and are willing to share it with those interested in working with them. Their profits are increased by not having to hire employees in the conventional way. They offer a way for you to post text ads online. This provides prospects for employment and building a home business. You can get started without having to provide funding and you can work at your own pace. The more you work the more you make.

Yes, there are people who want to sell at any cost, and will try any trick, but let’s believe that good always triumphs over evil, even though it is not apparent at first. Although this is an aside and not about the internet, I’m thrilled to hear stories of ordinary people who achieved great results and so glad that the media, both print and TV, has taken the trouble to unearth them. That’s when my eyes mist up and my heart swells with pride as I see the success and sacrifice of individuals who went beyond the call of duty. I believe it’s true of the internet as well. There are good people there. they are not all scammers.

How we look at money is important.

Let us see money as a commodity to enrich our lives. It is bartering power to get what we need and want. I used to live in Africa and the marketplace is such an interesting experience, where you bring your goat to sell to someone and in exchange you go home with a sack of maize or cabbages or whatever else you need, or just plain cash to pay your children’s school fees. We all have a wish list (one thing on my wish list is to go on a cruise), and before the wish list we must take care of the necessities of life and our families. Let’s think of money as a way to buy things that are important to us, not necessarily to give us power over other people or a way to show off wealth, but to use wealth for our own comfort and to spill over to others.

Enjoying life as it is now

Happiness is elusive. If we pursue it, we don’t usually find it, but it comes to us as a delightful bonus when we least expect it. Although we haven’t made enough money yet to get all those things we might dream about, let’s be positive and enjoy the small blessings of life — a cup of coffee with a friend, reading the newspaper with your spouse on Saturday morning, or delight ing in our children’s accomplishments.Some of my goals are to travel and enjoy God’s great universe and visit some of the beautiful places of the earth. These is a good goal. But in the meantime I plan to enjoy each and every day and the small pleasures of life while I’m working at increasing my income from my make money at home business.

Christmas is coming, instead of worrying that you don’t have the money you would like, think how you can enjoy it without money. I’m not advocating poverty, I’m in this business as you are to make money and to improve my situation, but let’s enjoy the journey and try and find the good everywhere. Let’s have a merry heart this Christmas season and keep working hard at our home business.
